occasion she was in a state of considerable distress when, suddenly, the room became frighteningly cold – almost with a freezing intensity. I also became aware of a dark and sinister figure behind her chair. I was very scared and called wordlessly on the help of the Blessed Virgin and all the saints. The experience lasted for about five minutes and the room then returned to its normal temperature and the strange figure vanished. The client gave no indication of having noticed anything unusual but a few minutes later she smiled and innocently remarked: “Something’s happened. I feel much better.” Her therapy proceeded apace in the following weeks and from that day onwards I always carried a rosary in my back pocket!
