Felon’s Maxims of the Saints is a classic work attributed to François Fénelon, translated and compiled by Thomas Cogswell Upham in the 19th century. Upham included Fénelon’s 45 “maxims” as a defense of the mystic Madame Guyon during ecclesiastical controversy

These maxims articulate mystical principles such as pure love, spiritual abandonment, non‑desire, and union with God, positioning them as teachings held by many saints across Christian history. Upham’s edition makes these mystical insights accessible to English readers.
