The Churches Fellowship for Psychical and Spiritual Studies was founded in 1953 because a group of Christians believed that psychic sensitivity was a God-given gift which could be used to God's glory and the good of humankind.

Fifty years later, Canon Michael Perry, the Fellowship's then President, writing from a lifetime's study of the subject, outlines the relevance of the psychic dimension to Christian believing and living.

His book is written as an encouragement to those who are psychically sensitive (in whatever great or small degree) and a plea to others to treat those experiences critically but sensitively.
