Hello Darkness my Old Friend

Rev David Grieve

Hello Darkness my Old Friend

A personal reflection on experience of the Dark Night of the Soul as it relates to lifelong, treatment resistant Depression, illustrated by some of my poems.

About David...

David Grieve is a retired priest, married to Jane, who is also a priest, and we live near the County Durham coast where she works. He has been ordained since 1976 and is still in occasional ministry. He is also a published poet, and writes about God, faith and mental health issues among many other things. Sacristy Press, Durham has published his Hope in Dark Places, poems about Depression and Christian Faith. He tries to follow Jesus and to commend him to others even when in the ‘deep and dazzling darkness’ of depression, which he is quite prepared to have conversations about, though mainly when he is well.
